We, the undersigned, register our strongest condemnation to the recent repeal of the Articl 370 of the Indian Constitution that abolished the special status of Kashmir. The repeal is illegal and it is a betrayal to the 7 million residents in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Wealthy are also Deceived
With respect to the wealthy, Imam Ghazali said, “Some of them are proud because they are able to build mosques, religious schools (madrasah), bridges and the like, with their names inscribed on them. They thought that by doing so, they would be entitled to forgiveness from God, while conveniently forgetting that some of their properties were acquired from illicit sources. They have been deceived because what is important is not to build buildings and structures, but to avoid the forbidden (the haram). Thus, their acts are considered as vices.”
A Unique Inner Power
Takwa (piety) is indeed a unique and great inner power. Its power possesses the energy to catalyse individuals to carve a glorious history in life. So, what is takwa? Umar al-Khattab once asked Ubai bin Kaab about it. Ubai said, “Have you ever walked along a path that was mired with thorns?” Umar answered, “Yes”. Ubai further asked, “So, what did u do?” Umar replied, “I walked with care and conscientiousness.” Ubai stated, “That is takwa.” From Ubai’s reply, takwa can be defined as being wary in life with regard to avoiding things that are impermissible, and being assiduous in performing the required acts of worship and deeds.
Priority-Based Planning
According to a hadis reported by Imam Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet once said to Aishah, “If not because of your people who just left the era of ignorance, I would change the Kabaah so that its door is lower to the ground and i would make two doors for it, one for entrance and another one for exit.”
